ARTIFACTS AND ARCHIVAL MATERIAL
I would like to donate an object, papers or photographs. What should I do?

Politismos welcomes donations of objects, memoirs, letters, photographs and other ephemera to its collections through donation, bequest, purchase, exchange, and field collecting. The Museum accepts select items which fit into existing collections, or that help build a foundation for future collections upon consideration by Museum.

We invite you to contact us either by phone (916-381-3875) or by email ( ) and provide a description of the item. Someone will contact you to discuss the possible donation, or in the alternative, recommend a better suited institution to receive your object(s).

Please note, it is not the policy of Politismos to provide a monetary evaluations for either archival materials or artifacts

DONATIONS
Cash Donations: A donation of cash allows the donor to receive full tax benefits (if they itemize). Gifts of any amount are welcome and donors may designate their donations to specific projects or towards the purchase of historical artifacts/collections.

Matching Gifts: Many companies match donations made by their employees to 501(c)3 organizations, or provide grant opportunities to such organizations for which their employees volunteer. Your employer, or Human Resource Department, can provide you with further detail as well as what documentation may be necessary.
