Greek crisis
K2 design
“The most dramatic revelation of the crisis is that Athens has no social structure, no solidarity. Maybe there are some people in small groups (connected usually with hate towards something or someone), but there is no sense of common life and fate. Everyone for himself and everybody against everybody.” Stathis Tsagkarousianos

Μe/We
Kanella
ME/WE is an interactive art poster. The viewers are invited to tweak the exhibit by deliberately moving the rotating letter and expressing in such a way their take on the crisis. “M” becomes “W” and vice versa with an easy move that leaves the participants’ fingerprints on the metal sheet; proof of evidence for this “election” process that also adds to the uniqueness of the artwork. The ultimate goal of ME/WE is to engage the viewers in its conceptual development. And, regardless of their choice, the purpose is fulfilled as ME/WE encourages their active participation and expression of attitude.

Although this poster seems to be written in English, all the words come from Greek language. The name of Europe comes from Hellas: Evropi means “having big eyes”. Crisis is a Greek word too and for this occasion is formed by the capital letters of the phrase Catastrophic Rhetoric In Systemic and Ideological Sepsis.

Α cuckoo can bring spring
Nikos Tsoutis
In the poster I’ve used a variant of the saying “one cuckoo does not bring spring” and a cuckoo as a subject matter. The cuckoo is influenced by ancient Greek amphorae and traditional embroidery designs through the prism of a visual communication designer. The aim of the poster is to convey the message that despite the crisis, there are creative people in Greece who can make the difference.

Pythagorean cup
Gursu Ogretmenoglu [Turkey]
Greece could lose! But there won’t be any winner. A Pythagorean cup (also known as a Pythagoras cup, a Greedy Cup or a Tantalus cup) is a form of drinking cup which forces its user to imbibe only in moderation. Credited to Pythagoras of Samos, it allows the user to fill the cup with wine up to a certain level. If the user fills the cup only to that level, the imbiber may enjoy a drink in peace. If the imbiber exhibits gluttony, however, the cup spills its entire contents out the bottom (onto the lap of the immodest drinker).
